Driving reinvestment in R&D for antibiotics and advocating their responsible use

Gordon Research Conference on New Antibacterial Discovery & Development

The conference on 13-18 March, 2016, in Tuscany brought together highly experienced leaders in antibacterial drug discovery and development together with young investigators to discuss novel strategies for achieving potent and safe antibacterial drugs against the most difficult-to-treat organisms. Ursula Theuretzbacher, co-leader of the DRIVE-AB communications team, presented DRIVE-AB and moderated a session on Learning from Clinical Experience with Novel Targets. A wealth of stakeholder feedback to DRIVE-AB’s work on new economic models provided valuable insight into the challenges of antibiotic R&D from a broad angel of perspectives.
