It was with much excitement and enthusiasm that 17 members from 11 countries across Europe gathered in Geneva on 6th October to begin to plan the DRIVE-AB Project. Through a series of plenary discussions and break out sessions the expert consortium looked at work plans for delivering new economic models for antibiotic discovery and development and evaluation of the responsible use of new and old antibiotics. All parties agree that stakeholder engagement and communication will be key to the success of the initiative, and time was wisely invested in examining how to engage across international stakeholder platforms and promote outputs through trade and lay press.
