UN Inter-agency Coordination Group on AMR convenes

The Inter-Agency Coordination Group (IACG) on AMR established by the UN Secretary-General met for the first time on the 2nd and 3rd of May. The group, comprised of high-level representatives from relevant UN agencies, individual experts, and other international organizations, is tasked with providing practical guidance on approaches to implement and ensure effective global action to address AMR, including options to improve coordination, fulfill the Global Action Plan on Antimicrobial Resistance, and implement Sustainable Development Goals. The IACG is expected to produce a report to the Secretary-General for the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly. DRIVE-AB partner Otto Cars attended the meeting as an individual expert. DRIVE-AB Survey on Global Incidence of 4 Drug-Resistant Organisms is Now Available

A DRIVE-AB survey to gather information on the global incidence of infections caused by selected antibiotic-resistant bacteria is now available. DRIVE-AB Partner Céline Pulcini Receives ESCMID Young Investigator Award

DRIVE-AB congratulates Work Package 1A partner Céline Pulcini on receiving the prestigious European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID) Young Investigator Award. Pulcini, a professor in infectious diseases in Nancy, France is not only an integral member of the DRIVE-AB WP1A team, responsible use of antibiotics, new and old, but is also secretary of ESGAP (the ESCMID Study Group for Antibiotic Policies), and coordinates the Antimicrobial Stewardship working group of the French infectious diseases society (SPILF).
