Antimicrobial Resistance UK Roundtable Series

UK Antimicrobial Resistance Roundtable Series
Meeting the challenge of antimicrobial resistance: Working together across political, professional and public fronts

Delivered by the British Society for Antimicrobial Chemotherapy in collaboration with 4AllofUs this tri-series of roundtable events will centre on the three strategic aims of the UK government’s five year antimicrobial resistance strategy published in September 2013 and look at how the health communities, pharmaceutical industry and diagnostics within Europe and internationally can

  1. Improve the knowledge and understanding of antimicrobial resistance
  2. Conserve and steward the effectiveness of existing treatments
  3. Stimulate the development of new antibiotics, diagnostics and novel therapies

We aim to inform, assist and influence delivery of the strategy across the UK, and lend lessons learnt to colleagues across Europe and the rest of the world. Multidisciplinary thinking, working and innovation is needed to address antimicrobial resistance – one of the greatest challenges 21st century challenges to health.

The outputs of this series will be presented at a joint meeting of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Antibiotics and All Party Parliamentary Group on Health in Spring 2015.
